Why do we say Italia! three times? Because on this Cultural Immersion Trip, we visit what seems like three different facets of that fascinating country! Rome offers its classical and ancient charms, with iconic sites like the Colosseum and Vatican. We’ll have the opportunity to visit these but also wander the back alleys, vine and flower (and graffiti) covered, colorful buildings in Trastevere and hear a bit about life as a local. Abruzzo, a much lesser-known region, offers the chance for a more unique and authentic experience, including learning about family life and the exuberant love, affection and energy of the locals here. Napoli, tall buildings and narrow streets, with laundry criss-crossing and flapping in the sea breeze, welcomes us with its gritty and fascinating port-town energy. We’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage historic city center and learn about what the locals love, including Maradona & Opera, before heading out of the city to visit surrounding natural stunners along the Amalfi Coast.
